Ludhiana: In an attempt to control increasing death toll due to trespassing on different railway crossing under the city limits, the railway authorities have started constructing boundary walls alongside the railway tracks.The work on constructing the wall along the tracks has started on the Sahnewal-Dhandari section. It is six-month long project in which the authorities have to plug in entry points along the tracks till March 2020 to prevent track crossings.Assistant divisional engineer Kapil Vats said they were covering the section from Ludhiana to Sahnewal as of now. In the first phase, Dhandari to Sahnewal section would be covered and then a wall would be constructed from Ludhiana to Dhandari.“It is a 15km stretch from Ludhiana to Sahnewal, but the wall will be constructed at around 4 to 4.5km area between the two stations.
