This press release comes to you from the Public Relations Department, Central Railway, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai.
  
Machine enabled deep screening and tamping (track maintenance works) of rail crossover points at Perinad yard(station limits) will commence from 03rd January 2019. These works are scheduled during the night hours thereby causing minimal interference for day/commuter trains. In addition, meticulous planning and coordination amongst concerned departments viz. operating, engineering etc delivered in phasing out all track maintenance dues in the division. As informed earlier, deep screening and tamping tracks at station yards increases the reliability and safety of rail infrastructure. Smooth running of trains at higher speeds is ensured by deep screening works. Traffic block is essential for completing the works and minimum line/power block of four and hours is essential for each crossover point at a station. After Ochira, Sasthankotta and Karunagapally, the machines are mobilized to Perinad station for completion of track maintenance. 1. Train No. 56300 Kollam-Alappuzha Passenger will be fully cancelled on 06th, 07th, 09th and 11th January 2019.
2. Train No. 56301 Alappuzha-Kollam Passenger will be fully cancelled on 05th, 06th, 08th and 10th January 2019.

PARTIAL CANCELLATION
1. Train No. 66309 Ernakulam-Kollam MEMU via Alappuzha will be partially cancelled between Kollam-Kayamkulam on 03rd and 04th January 2019.
2. Train No. 56391 Ernakulam-Kollam Passenger via Kottayam will be partially cancelled between Kollam-Kayamkulam on 03rd and 04th January 2019.

II. Train No. 16355 Kochuveli-Mangalore.Antyodaya Express scheduled to leave Kochuveli at 21.20 hrs. will be rescheduled to depart at 22.20 hrs.(late by 60 minutes), the train will be further regulated en route for 60 minutes at Kochuveli-Kollam section.
III. Train No. 16343 Thiruvananthapuram-Madurai Amritha Express scheduled to depart at 22.00 hrs. will be rescheduled to depart at 23.00 hrs(late by 60 minutes), the train will be further regulated for 10 minutes at Kollam Jn.
IV. Train No. 16792 Palakkad-Tirunelveli Express will be regulated for 2 hours 40 minutes at Kayamkulam-Sasthankotta section.

2. On Friday 04th January 2019,
I. Train No. 16311 Shri Ganganagar-Kochuveli Weekly Express will be regulated for 30 minutes at Sasthankotta.
II. Train No. 16127 Chennai Egmore-Guruvayur Express will be regulated for 01 hour 15 minutes at Kollam Jn.
III. Train No. 22653 Thiruvananthapuram-Hazrat Nizamuddin Weekly Superfast Express will be regulated for 30 minutes at Kollam Jn.

MANGALURU: Southern Railway has decided to change the composition of train 16333/16334 Thiruvananthapuram-Central Veraval-Thiruvananthapuram-Central (weekly) express and train 22633/22634 Thiruvananthapuram-Central- Hazrath Nizamuddin-Thiruvananthapuram-Central (weekly) express on permanent basis due to standardization of rakes by the zonal railway.Accordingly, train 16333/16334 Thiruvananthapuram-Central Veraval-Thiruvananthapuram-Central weekly express will have 23 coaches, the same as earlier, from Thiruvananthapuram on April 15, 2019, and from Veraval on April 18, 2019. The change has been done in reducing the general coach from three to two, reducing sleeper coaches from 13 to 12 and increasing 3 tier AC coaches from three to five.In case of train 22633/22634 Thiruvananthapuram-Central-Hazrath Nizamuddin-Thiruvananthapuram weekly express, the number of coaches has been increased to 21 from present 20 and will be effective at Thiruvananthapuram from April 10 and Hazrath Nizamuddin from April 12. Railways will operate a special train on special fare between Bandra Terminal and Mangaluru Junction to clear the extra rush during Christmas.
A release from Konkan Railway Corporation here said Train No. 09009 Bandra-Mangaluru Jn Weekly Special will leave Bandra at 11.55 p.m. on December 25 and January 1 (Tuesdays) and reach Mangaluru at 7.45 p.m. the next day.
Train No. 09010 Mangaluru Jn-Bandra Weekly Special will leave Mangaluru at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26 and January 2, and reach Bandra at 7.30 p,m, the next day.

Railways has decided to revise the composition of Train No. 16333/16334 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Veraval-Thiruvananthapuram Central Weekly Express and Train No. 22633/22634 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Hazrath Nizamuddin-Thiruvananthapuram Central Weekly Express on permanent basis due to standardisation of rakes of Southern Railway.
One each general class and sleeper class coaches on Train No. 16333/16334 will be replaced with two 3-Tier AC coaches in April 2019.
Two out of three 2-Tier AC coaches on Train No. 22633/22634 would be removed and one more 3-Tier AC and two sleeper coaches would be added from April, the KRCL release said.
  
Kollam: The Southern Railway has notified partial cancellation of services or restrictions from November 22 to 28 as maintenance work is to be undertaken on tracks near Ochira station. The Ernakulam-Kollam Passenger service (56391) via Kottayam will not operate on November 22 and 23.
