Bhubaneswar/Guwahati: Due to the ongoing protest by various organisations in Tinsukia and Lumding of Northeast Frontier Railway division in Assam, as many as three trains have been cancelled while several others short-originated.
Here’s the List of Cancelled Trains:
1. Train No. 12503 Bengaluru Cantt – Agartala Humsafar Express commencing journey on 13.12.2019
2. Train No. 15906 Dibrugarh- Kanyakumari Express commencing journey on 14.12.2019
Train No. 15905 Kanyakumari-Dibrugarh Express commencing journey on 19.12.2019
Besides, three trains originating from Puri will leave Puri Railway Station 3.15 hour late each due to the agitation in Howrah-Kharagpur section in West Bengal.
Short-Origin Trains:
1. Train No. 12838 Puri-Howrah Express
2. Train No. 08403 Puri-Santragachhi Special
3. Train No. 18410 Puri-Howrah Shri Jagannath Express
Moreover, Dibrugarh-Tambaram Express (15930) will start from Guwahati on 16.12.2019 instead of its originating station, Dibrugarh.
In view of the Bharat Bandh called by Congress Party and 21 opposition parties against the rising fuel prices across India, Indian railways and rail passengers have been affected most as several long-distance trains halted, rescheduled and running late.
Since morning thousands of Protesters squatted on tracks in several railway stations in different parts of the country. With limited food and water passengers on the train suffered greatly.
In Maharashtra Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam and Congress President Ashok Chavan led thousands of activists to the railway track in Andheri where they got
down on the railway tracks shouting anti Government slogans. Before that, they created noisy protest outside the Andheri station bus depot.
In view of the protest, East Coast Railway Zone has canceled 12 trains of East Coast Railway Zone that includes Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam InterCity Express and Bhubaneswar-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express d Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam InterCity Express.
Railway services have been greatly affected in different parts of Bihar. Thousands of protesters from Jan Adhikar Party Loktantrik blocked railway tracks at Rajendra Nagar Terminal railway station in Patna in protest.

Railway stations in Patna, Jahanabad, Muzaffarpur and Arrah, remained tense as protesters stopped the Arrah-Patna passenger train and 13202 Rajendra Nagar-Lok Manya Tilak Express at the Arrah railway station for several hours.
All the long routes trains passing through Bihar’s Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Bhojpur and Jehanabad badly affected. These trains were seen halting in the stations hours after hours.
Railways have been greatly affected in different parts of Assam. Congress protesters stopped the trains on the track in Udalguri district of Assam. They stepped forward into the train engine and started slogans. A passenger train coming from Rangapara to Rangia was blocked on the way for more than one hour.
In view of the Bandh, the Indian Railway temporarily canceled several trains bound from Puri to Howrah, Sealdah, Gandhidham, Chennai and Mumbai. Several others have been short-terminated at Bhubaneswar.

18409/18410 Sri Jagannath Express,
12287/12288 Dhauli Express,
12875/12876 Puri-Anand Bihar-Puri Neelachal Express and

The Indian Railway has issued a notice temporarily cancelling several trains to Puri from Howrah, Sealdah, Chennai, Mumbai, Gandhidham and other places, while some others will be short-terminated at Bhubaneswar.
however, said that important trains like 12837/12838 Howrah-Puri-Howrah Express, 12287/12288 Dhauli Express, 18409/18410 Sri Jagannath Express, 12875/12876 Puri-Anand Bihar-Puri Neelachal Express and 12801/12802 Puri-New Delhi-Puri Purushottam Express will continue to ply as usual, but may involve delay in departure and arrival.
“Railways is planning a massive overhaul and modification work at Puri railway yard from September 12 and this will involve temporary dislocation of train services for 10 to 12 days,” a Railway communication said.
The modernisation work will be for upgrading infrastructure and improve capacity to handle trains at Puri, a terminal station which at present takes care of 54 trains on an average per day, it said.
Many of the trains being cancelled or short-terminated at Bhubaneswar or Khurda Road are not daily trains and ply on specific days of a week.

Train services of South Eastern Railway have been partially affected today (2.8.18) when engine and o­ne SLR of empty rake of 12871 Howrah-Titlagarh Ispat Express while admitting at Howrah station (Platform No 23) got derailed at 6:00 hrs today morning blocking platform no 21, 22 & 23.
As a result the following trains have been rescheduled/short terminated/cancelled :-
Trains Rescheduled
·12821 Howrah-Puri Dhauli Express has been rescheduled to leave Howrah at 9:30 hrs instead of 6:00 hrs today (2.8.18)
·12871 Howrah-Titlagarh Ispat Expresshas been rescheduled to leave Howrah at 10:00 hrs instead of 6:55 hrs today (2.8.18)
Trains Short Terminated
The following down trains have been short terminated at Santragachi :

बिलासपुर। ट्रेनों की लेटलतीफी से यात्री परेशान हैं। मुंबई -हावड़ा के बीच चलने वाली ट्रेनें भी घंटों विलंब से चल रही हैं। रात 1.15 बजे बिलासपुर पहुंचने वाली 12809 मुंबई-हावड़ा गीतांजलि एक्सप्रेस सुबह 7.25 बजे पहुंची। वहीं 12880 भुवनेश्वर -कुर्ला एक्सप्रेस बुवार को 9 घंटे देर से रात 2 बजे आई। यात्रियों को पूरी रात स्टेशन में रतजगा करना पड़ा। दिल्ली की ओर से आने ट्रेनें पहले की तरह देर से पहुंचीं।
महीनेभर से जारी ट्रेनों की लेटलतीफी कुछ कम हुई। 18238 अमृतसर-बिलासपुर छत्तीसगढ़ एक्सप्रेस दोपहर 12.20 बजे की जगह शाम 4 बजे पहुंची। यह ट्रेन सप्ताहभर से 15 से 16 घंटे विलंब से चल रही थी। वहीं 18410 निजामुद्दीन-रायगढ़ गोंडवाना एक्सप्रेस 3 घंंटे देर आई। समय पर रैक नहीं मिलने के
कारण बुवार की रात 3 बजे रायगढ़ से छूटने वाली गोंडवाना एक्सप्रेस 2 घंटे देर से रवाना हुई।
इसके चलते बिलासपुर भी सुबह 5.40 बजे की जगह 7.40 बजे पहुंची। 02891 जबलपुर-सांतरागाछी एक्सप्रेस सुबह 4.30 बजे की जगह 10.40 बजे, 20813 पुरी-जोपुर एक्सप्रेस रात 3.15 बजे की जगह गुरुवार की सुबह 6.25 बजे पहुंची।
रात की ट्रेनों की लेटलतीफी से यात्री सबसे ज्यादा परेशान हुए। उन्हें पूरी रात स्टेशन में ही गुजारना पड़ा। यात्री ट्रेनों की लेटलतीफी की सूचना मैसेज भेजने की मांग कर रहे हैं। इससे कम से कम स्टेशन आकर इंतजार करने की समस्या दूर हो जाएगी।
