Accordingly, Train No. 12089 Yesvantpur – Shivamogga Town Janshatabdi Expres will arrive/depart Tarikere – 21:02/21:03 hrs and Train No. 12090 Shivamogga Town - Yesvantpur Janshatabdi Express will arrive/depart Tarikere – 06:04/06:05 hrs.

Shobha Karandlaje, Udupi-Chikkamgaluru MP, met Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal in New Delhi and sought a survey for the Nandikur-Karkala-Moodbidri-Ujire-Dharmasthala railway line.

Nandikur-Dharmasthala railway line, with a link to Mudigere, would connect the coastal districts with Bengaluru through the shortest and fastest route. The present Mangaluru-Bengaluru line passed through the Ghats route, which restricted train movement in terms of speed and service, she said.
She also sought a new railway line from Chikkamagaluru to Hassan. The Indian Railways should provide a stoppage for Janshatabdi Express at Tarikere railway station. She also sought stoppage for Mysuru-Talaguppa Intercity Express (Train no: 16205/16206) and for Shivamogga-Bengaluru Intercity Express (Train no: 20651/20652) at Devanuru railway station.
Ms. Karandlaje sought stoppage for passenger trains at Belenahalli railway station. She demanded speeding up of the Chikkamagaluru-Yeshwantpur Express and upgrading Tarikere railway station to a hi-tech station.

The service of four trains was disrupted following a landslide at an Upper Bhadra project site near a railway track at Haliyooru near Tarikere on Saturday. 
Following the landslide, the service of a Shivamogga bound fast passenger train from Bengaluru was affected and passengers were inconvenienced. 
The railway officials had noticed issues in railway track following landslide at 3.30 am. As a result, the train was stopped at Shivapura and the passengers were sent via bus. There were 2,000 passengers in the train. The railway track was restored and later, the train services resumed....

As a part of the Upper Bhadra project, a canal is being constructed below the railwaytrack. Following the work, the landslide occurred on the spot and a tunnel has been created, Upper Bhadra project officials said.
