The Secunderabad Division has awarded a contract for setting up e-vehicle charging stations at 32 major railway stations.
E-Vehicle Charging Facility: Indian Railways has taken another major step towards sustainable mass transportation, ensuring green environment and clean energy. The Hyderabad railway station has been provided with an e-vehicle charging facility. According to a statement issued by South Central Railways, as part of the Modi government’s initiative to reduce carbon emissions in all major cities by the year 2030 and as a major boost toward e-mobility, recently, the Secunderabad Division has awarded a contract for setting up e-vehicle charging stations at 32 major railway stations across the zonal railway. According to the national transporter, e-mobility is an important step towards environmental stability as it reduces carbon emission as well as improves the quality of life apart from facilitating low maintenance requirements. The South Central Railways further said that with the continuous increase in the usage of electric vehicles, the provision of charging points for e-vehicles at the railway stations will provide additional facility to the railway passengers. Thus, as a first-time initiative, the Secunderabad Division has taken up the provision of electric vehicle charging facility across 32 railway stations over its jurisdiction. The initiative will also generate earnings for Indian Railways, South Central Railway said.

Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway conducted annual inspection of Secunderabad Division today i.e., 27th December, 2017, which includes major stations, Chittapur, Sedam, Tandur, Vikarabad and Lingampalli etc in the Wadi-Secunderabad section. Sri Amit Varadan, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division accompanied the General Manager during the inspection.

Running Room, points & crossings etc. The General Manager inaugurated 3.25 KWP Hybrid Solar & Wind Power Plant at Sedam Railway station and inspected staff room and commercial inspector’s office. He also conducted a Speed Test between Nawandgi-Mantatti section.

At Tandur Railway Station, the General Manager inspected the station premises and Railway Quarters; He inaugurated 10 KWP Solar Power Plant, S&T/Electrical Staff Room and RPF Post o­n Platform. He participated in Mass Tree Plantation along with school children and staff at station premises. He met the local public representatives, staff associations and received memorandums and interacted with the media personnel. He launched a Mobile App ‘IRWIMR-Indian Railway Worksite Inspection Management and Reporting System’ for real time monitoring in Signal & Tele Communication Engineering.
At Vikarabad Railway Station, Shri B.Sanjeeva Rao, Hon’ble MLA, Vikarabad, Shri K.Yadava Reddy, Hon’ble MLC met the General Manager and discussed o­n Rail Development issues in their jurisdiction. The General Manager inaugurated Stores Management System, renovated Community Hall and Multi Gym. Later, he inspected platforms, station premises, Health Unit and other facilities. Local representatives and trade unions met Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav and submitted representations. He also inspected bridges and Level Crossing Gates in the section and interacted with Trackmen and Gatemen and advised them to be alert in ensuring safety in train operations.

The Railways has conceded the long-pending demand to have a stoppage for the Yeshwantpur-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express (train no. 22679 and 22680) at Chittapur in Kalaburagi district from October 1.
The train, introduced by Mallikarjun Kharge when he was Railway Minister, had no stops in Kalaburagi district. On Thursday, the South Central Railway announced that besides this train, the Tirupati-Sainagar Shirdi Express (17417 and 17418) and the Tata Nagar Yeshwantpur Express (18111 and 18112) would stop at Chittapur from October 4 and October 2, respectively.

Express will also stop at Guntakal and Mantralayam from October 1. Similarly, the Jaipur-Yeshwantpur Express (82653 and 82654) will stop at Guntakal and Mantralayam from October 1.
According to the revised schedule, the Bengaluru-Hazrat Nizamuddin Express (22691 and 22692) will stop at Guntakal junction from October 1, while Mumbai-Nagercoil Express (16351 and 16352) will stop at Mantralayam, also from October 1.
The Rajkot-Coimbatore Express (16613 and 16614) will stop at Mantralayam station from October 1, while the Mysuru-Bagalkot Express (17037 and 17038) will stop at Mantralayam.
The Gorakhpur-Yeshwantpur Express (12591 and 12592) and the Mumbai CST-Trivandrum Express (16331 and 16332) will also stop at Mantralayam from October 1.
