PM to lay Foundation for Karimnagar-Secunderabad Rail line
31 Jul, 2016 in South Central Railway, Hyderabad Division by rail
Prime Minister to lay stone for railway line connecting Karimnagar and Secunderabad
Modi KCR meetingPrime Minister Narendra Modi would lay foundation stone for the long-cherished dream of a railway line from Karimnagar to Secunderabad, during his visit to Gajwel on August 7. The proposed
railway line will begin from Kothapalli to Manoharabad near Secunderabad.
Disclosing this to newsmen here on Saturday, Karimnagar MP B.Vinod Kumar said that Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao proposed the railway line when he was Karimnagar MP in 2004. When the Railway authorities had said that it was not feasible, Mr Rao assured that the State government would bear one-third of the project cost and also hand over land free of cost to the Railways.
Again when the Railways said that they would incur losses, the Chief Minister gave consent for payment of annuity for the first five years after commissioning of the project.
At last, the Railways had agreed to take up the project, he said and added that they had already acquired about 900 acres of land in Medak district for the same.
He also said that they would expedite the process of land acquisition in Karimnagar district and two villages of Warangal district near Komaravelli.
Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu had also given consent for laying foundation for the construction of bridge across the river Manair near Boinpally very soon for the Kothapalli to Manoharabad railway line.
He urged the Union government to take measures for the early completion of the project. ZP chairperson Tula Uma, MLC N Laxman Rao, Choppadandi legislator B Shoba, Mayor S Ravinder Singh and others were also present.
The proposed line would be useful to the region to get connected to to North India, and would emerge as a link to extend the facility of being connected with the North-South corridor, to the whole of Telangana.
