BENGALURU: A major mishap was averted after two coaches of 12786 Mysuru-Kacheguda Express detached on Friday evening.South Western Railway (SWR) officials said the incident occurred around 7:06pm between Byyappanahalli and Channasandra stations, causing panic among passengers and staff.SWR officials said two third-AC coaches (B1 and B2) were affected. However, hte toilet portion of the B2 fell on the ground and blocked train movements. However, decoupling (separation) did not lead to any injures and caused only disruption of services.The train which originated from Mysuru at 2:50pm, passed Byyappanahalli at 6:53pm and stopped near Channasandra station at 7:06pm.Officials said the train driver immediately stopped the 24-coach train after he came to know about the uncoupling.While many passengers on the train panicked after the incident. Officials said an inquiry has been ordered into the incident and the reason for the uncoupling will be known after investigation.
