senior officer of Indian Railways Service of Engineers, Shri Ajay Goyal has taken over the charge of the post of Principal Chief Engineer of Western Railway on 24th February, 2020. Shri Goyal is a Senior Officer of 1984 Batch of IRSE. Prior to his appointment as Principal Chief Engineer of Western Railway, he was working as Director of Indian Railway Institute of Civil Engineering (IRICEN) at Pune. Shri Goyal holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Structure from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. He has a rich experience of working in various capacities. Shri Goyal has held various administrative positions including Joint Director (PSU) Railway Board, Sr. Divisional Engineer (Coordination) & Chief Engineer (Construction) in North Central Railway - Allahabad, Chief Bridge Engineer in North Eastern Railway - Gorakhpur, Senior Professor (Br.) in IRICEN - Pune, Chief Engineer (Construction) & Chief Track Engineer in Central Railway - CSMT and Chief Bridge Engineer in Western Railway - Churchgate. Shri Goyal also has received Management Training in the United States of America.
